Day 157: First Days In

by Sarah Devika Sumnauth

So today being one of the few days left I have with the current buyer, I made the most of my time and got right into my new duties. Creating credits, processing spoilage, distributing samples, lining in new product, and talking to reps and just learning on the fly have me feeling so happy. It’s a transition time to be sure which comes with all sorts of kinks to be worked out, but I’m really enjoying the job so far.

I can’t express enough how much this role is going to help me in Urban Minerals. As I get more and more familiarized and more and more stretched I feel as though everything is valuable. Everything is useful information and I’m getting first-hand, real-world experience that I wouldn’t get elsewhere.

I will absolutely be bringing this knowledge along with me, especially knowledge of how to talk to future buyers and businesses with respects to getting my product on their shelves. It’s wild that I’m getting this opportunity, because I’m going to find out first hand the frustrations and joys of what the people I’ll be working with, are. It’s an invaluable tool to have that kind of walk-in-their-shoes compassion.

As always I will report on any new happenings and if you my friend have questions, comments or inspiration for me, do share! I love hearing from you.
