Getting Out into Nature, my Way

by Sarah Devika Sumnauth

I acknowledge that I am not perfect, and that is exactly what suits me fine.  What I also acknowledge is my ability to figure things out and make them work to my advantage.  So that’s what I’m going to do.  I figure that even on blah days like today, you can at least save yourself a bit of the headache by driving to the lake and getting out of your car despite the drizzle to walk to the point and just stare out at the wave on the horizon.  This is essentially what I did tonight, and let me just tell you that it was SO worth it.

I realize that as I age, the more time I spend with myself and in nature, the happier I feel.  I marry this side of myself with the other side that enjoys all things urban and city, flashing lights and busy streets, because I can.  I think it’s important to remember that you too have that connection and that is something so beautiful and rare.  Good job ladies and gents!

So even in those moments where you don’t feel perfect, heck, or even feel like a HOT mess, just know that you can take yourself out of the equation and add a little more nature to the mix.  This will chill you the f*ck out, guaranteed.  Try it.
