Happy Year of the Water Snake!

by Sarah Devika Sumnauth

Today I painted my room.  It went from a dull, washed out off white mess to a fresh coat of Peacock Plume from CIL.  Haha, all I can say that this has already impacted my energy in the best way and I can’t wait to have the finished product so I can post it to show you guys the before and after!

Also, Happy Chinese New Year’s! I hope you’re all taking some time out on this lovely sunny Sunday to spend some quality time with those who are closest to you.  I know it’s an important celebration and with this shift we welcome the influx of the Water Snake energies (2012 was the Year of the Water Dragon).  Here’s an excerpt from one of my fave astrology websites, astrology.com on the significance of this new Chinese calendar year.

Welcome to Year of the Water Snake! Snake is the Yin to last year’s Dragon Yang. That said, Snake does not settle for mediocrity, either. We’re likely to see significant developments in the area of science and technology this year. Research and development are apt to flourish. This is a Water year as well, the element most closely associated with education and research, making 2013 a very special year for scientists and scholars. Snake is a great sign, a positive one, with energy that can help us face all of the challenges ahead of us. Let’s take advantage of this vibrant influence to improve our lives – and our world!”

What could be better than that?

I think that this year will be especially potent for all of us who are working hard and want to see real change and improvement in their lives.  I know that that’s the trajectory that I’m on and I hope the same for you.  This comes at a rather auspicious time for me too, because of the imminent launch date of Urban Minerals.  I want to see significant developments and thankfully (thankfully!) I’ve already begun to see some cohesion.  So as always guys, stay tuned for more updates as that date approaches, June 21st, 2013!
