On to the next phase #fall
Day 100: One Hundred Days of Putting Down New RootsWow, today is day 100 of my daily post challenge and I have to say good lord, its been a whirlwind of an adventure! It’s crazy to be able to look back over the last 100 days and think about all of the wonderful, new and exciting things that have entered my life. I don’t think I could feel more grateful.
And I guess the best analogy for all of this is to call back a memory I have from grade 1. In grade 1, I remember having the Lima Bean project. You know the one, where you’re all given a Lima Bean, so small and you have to plant it and water it and wait patiently for it to sprout and then grow into the cutest little Lima Bean plant you ever did see? Well that’s basically how I feel now, but with that experience magnified tenfold.
What I also remember is my teacher patiently explaining to me that no my Lima bean hadn’t died it was just taking in nutrients from the soil and the water, and somewhere inside itself, underneath where you couldn’t see anything, things were happening, and roots were descending. Many coloring exercises followed that particular lesson. It is that memory too that I want to reference because that makes me feel much better about where I am with all of this and more confident as to where I’m going.
But here’s why I love these teachings and am applying them to my everyday life. I believe that over the past 100 days I’ve really put down substantial roots. The office I’ve created, the practical blog and social media outlets, the new business banking accounts, the beginnings of a fabulous website, logo and philosophy, the research and development of what will become Urban Minerals proprietary offering, the amount of people I’ve worked with and told about my actions, the way I think about myself and my abilities…they’ve all grown. And the majority of these actions are only in response to me taking the plunge to register Urban Minerals with the Government of Ontario.
It’s wild but now looking ahead there’s so much that I can metaphorically see as the sproutings’ of this adventure, the time where I grow straight up into the sunshine so that my trunk and branches can fully form and ready themselves, myself, for the inevitable sprouting of leaves.
Makes sense, doesn’t it.
I think that this process so far has been wonderfully, uncomfortably and ultimately something I’m so proud of. I’m also really glad that I wrote it all down to remember when I’m old and grey.
So with that I do have a question for you. Is there something in your life that iyour taking on now that it’s 2012 and it just seems like the right time to do it? Something that you feel you’ve been incubating for a while and something that you are ready to kick into a new phase? Let me know here on Tumblr, on twitter or anywhere else your heart desires.
I’m off to celebrate with one of my girls tonight to “water” if you will ;)
Happy Friday!
