Day 50: A Blue Moon
See that? That’s the almost full, blue
Moon that’s going to be totally full on the 31st. I’m getting excited because I love the moon in all it’s phases and this one is particularly special, indeed.
A blue moon is named as such not because it physically rises blue but rather because it appears full, twice in one month. If anything it should be called two moons for the price of one. Lame I know. In an esoteric sense though, all of the energy that a regula full moon possesses in one month is doubled up and can mess with everything to do with gravity ie. you and me.
The effect it can have on us is especially interesting. For a moment, take a look around you and think back to any moments that seem out of the norm. Are people acting any differently? If you work in retail, are customers treating you any differently? Getting more weirdos? Or in my case, are you seeing more acts of random kindness?
Today for example I was riding the subway home and a gentleman, upon seeing a young, black mother with a stroller, got up from his seat without any prompting or communication whatsoever, and gave up his comfy, orange velour spot so she could sit down. I legitimately don’t think she even noticed, because he acted like he was exiting the train.
Another two people complimented me on my attire today which if you ask me is random, because I have to wear a WF apron while I’m at work. So that’s weird. Annnnd, I randomly had a raccoon come out of nowhere last night and almost commit mammal suicide via the front of my car. The bugger sauntered off like nothing had happened. The audacity.
This all goes to show that people and wildlife are acting funny and maybe, just maybe it’s the Blue Moon. (I hope
It is and not me because that would go a long way to make me feel way more sane). Either way I’m just interested in noticing all of the weird things that are happening right now.
Are you noticing anything weird? And if so, how out of the norm is it? Granted a raccoon crossing the road isn’t that crazy or getting compliments, but people giving up their seats on busy mass transit? Well that just blows my mind!
