Where to begin? Well for starters today I was in a blackout at work for an hour and a half. The kind of black out where all who partook reminisced about the Blackout of 2004, the potential for a zombie apocalypse and when the power and lights went out, the backup lights stayed on, and then those bad boys went out too about 45 minutes later and we were plunged into total darkness.
An interesting start to my day to say the least.
I felt like all day the energy out and about was kind of off and I felt extra sensitive to it. I think this, plus the creepy fog and odd people outside as I was commuting home have me feeling a bit unsettled and I really don’t like that feeling at all. In light of the fact that I’m a woman and I sometimes have to travel home alone at the end of the night, I just want to make sure that we’re all on the same page.
Rule #1: When in doubt always follow your gut. Or nose. Both generally will lead you right.
Rule #2: Travel in pairs. And when not possible, walk like your a bad ass. It makes you seem a bit more intimidating even if you don’t feel that way.
Rule #3: Keep your wits about you, and stay off you phone. As a woman, it’s important to always know where you are, whose around you and where you’re going.
I don’t mean to frighten you, and I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with Urban Minerals, but this is what my day was like, and I do believe that it’s important to stay open to sharing what’s going on in your life.
Also, I shouldn’t say that it has nothing to do with Urban Minerals, because empowerment as a woman, or man, has everything to do with green, inner beauty, and that’s what counts. I want to maintain my inner strength and if that means getting out the things that may throw me for a loop, than that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.
I think my next course of action is to ground myself any way that I can. The interesting thing is that I just came across an article that talked about this new therapy called Earthing, where you literally take your shoes off and just stand barefoot on the ground. By doing this you connect with this incredibly grounding energy and your state of mind can settle, your body relaxes and it’s been known to help with all sorts of degenerative ailments like arthritis and osteoporosis. Just from standing barefoot outside… I think that’s definitely worth a try.
So here’s to another day to be a strong, bad ass, barefoot woman. I’m keeping it real.
